This is a 3-day course that will be presented by a group of leading experts in their fields to give a comprehensive account of all issues relating to patient safety during laparoscopic surgery. The course will cover human & organisational factors in surgical risks, perioperative & anaesthetic considerations, laparoscopic pelvic anatomy and energy sources. The programme will also focus on how to avoid major complications of laparoscopic surgery and to keep the ureter, bowel and major vessels safe. In addition, there will be a special session to discuss various techniques that can be adopted during common and complex laparoscopic procedures to minimise surgical risks. The course will also include debates, panel discussions, live surgery and a wet lab hands-on laparoscopic suturing workshop (limited to 12 delegates).

Our first course was well attended and received excellent fedbacks from delegates who found the event both interesting and informative.

The programme is aimed at Gynaecology Consultants and trainees with all levels of laparoscopic skills. Most of the programme is also suitable for theatre nurses and surgeons of other specialties such as general surgery and urology.
